Test and keep a Google Hello Smart Video Doorbell
The humble doorbell has stayed virtually the same for decades. However Smart video doorbells such as the Google Nest Hello have arrived on the market giving a fresh, new way for doorbells to work. Testers Keepers has one Nest Hello retailing at £229 up for grabs.
The Nest Hello is a Wi-Fi connected smart doorbell with a wide-angle camera which captures high definition HDR video. The Nest Hello sends alerts with pictures through to a smartphone, allowing the user to talk to the visitor even when not at home. This new concept is perfect when expecting a delivery and you'd like the driver to leave the parcel in a safe place, or just to give you peace of mind when out and about.
For an extra £4 a month, you can opt for cloud video storage and access facial recognition resulting in the app announcing the name of any known visitor.
The Nest Hello only records video clips when triggered by motion or sound, and the doorbell can also connect to other smart home devices, including Google Assistant speakers so that users can get alerts through them.
The Nest Hello requires a wired doorbell, chime and the right transformer, as well as a broadband connection with a minimum of 2Mbps upload speed in order to work properly.
