I have received the Chicco Next to Me Air around 3 weeks ago, by Royal Mail and I love it, I think is the most helpful item in my new mommy life. I am using it from the first arriving day, all night and sometimes during the day, for day sleep and for play sessions in the bed.
The bedside came very well packed, with no damage.
In the box I found an instructions book, disassembled bed frame, the mattress, a travel bag and fastening belts.
The assembling is very easy to make it, it takes less than 10 minutes to finish it. The crib legs have 6 height levels and this think make the pair easier the crib with my bed. When is necessary I set the head leg on level 6 and the foot leg on level 4 or 5, and this thing helps the baby to improve digestion and help to breathe easier or I use it in this way just for a comfortable sleep. It is simple to secure the Next2Me with the fastening belts fixing them around my bed mattress.
The feet are foldable, and they have wheels and brakes on one side, so it is easy to move the crib around the bedroom or put it in another room. It is not to heavy, around 9 kg, I can move it around even if I am using just one arm.
The mattress is soft and thick enough for the newborn babies. It is easy to clean and very easy to change the bed sheet. Because the mattress is slightly soft and not to thin, my baby can sleep, play or relax safely on his tummy and it is easy for him to turn from side to side with no help.
Because the crib has mesh window on both sides, the ventilation is much better, the baby is breathing easily, and it helps me to see the baby from both sides when I am doing chores around him.
The side sleeping helps the baby and parent to co-sleep with no worries about the baby’s safety, also this side helps me to cuddle my baby when he is sleeping.
The colour crib, grey, is perfect for parents even if you want to use it for a girl or for a boy, it’s match perfect with both of gender and it is helpful because this colour is easy to clean with a wet cloth or wipes and can hide some stains.
The travel bag is big enough to carry the bed, the mattress, and some bed sheets, and is comfortable to use it because of large handles.
I definitely recommend this bed for all newborn babies, it is a versatile bed and the biggest advantages are that you can use it like a normal crib, a co sleeping bed and a travel cot, it is worth the price and the most important fact is you can use it from the first day until around age 6 or 7 months. It is strong enough to use it for more than one kid if you manage to keep the crib in good conditions. I will definitely keep it in the travel bag for my second baby.
