Book reviewer needed - This is Going to Hurt: Secret Diaries of a Junior Doctor by Adam Kay
Testers Keepers is looking for reviewer for a nonfiction book written by British comedy writer Adam Kay. This is Going to Hurt is a collection of diary entries Adam Kay wrote during his medical training from 2004 to 2010, and was published seven years later.
The book is hilarious and painfully honest no-holds barred account of the time in the frontline by one of the NHS by one junior doctor. The 97-hour weeks, life and death decisions, constant contact with bodily fluids and earning less than the hospital parking meter.
This is Going to Hurt covers political issues in the healthcare system of the NHS, and societal conflicts between general population and neglected doctors. The book is accomplished by incorporating humour into his personal anecdotes that depicts the authors life as he progresses through his medical training. The often hilarious, at times horrifying and occasionally heartbreaking diaries of former junior doctor Adam Kay share the story of why he decided to hang up his stethoscope for good.
The Sunday Times bestseller has had several recognitions since its release, including Blackwell's Debut of the year 2017 and Book of the year 2018 in the National Book Awards. BBC Two has announced that This is Going to Hurt will be a major new comedy-drama in the near future.
