Testers Keepers: ASDA Mystery Shopping Review

Posted on 06 December 2016

Thank you TestersKeepers for giving me this opportunity to be a Mystery Shopper.

I chose the Bootle, Liverpool Asda, which is the closest to my home, as I don't drive.

On arrival at the store, at 5.30pm, I was surprised to find that the store wasn't as packed as I thought it would be. I was free to shop less frantically than at other big supermarkets I have used in the past.

Having been diagnosed that very day as having type 2 diabetes, and given a list of dietary changes to make, I was delighted at the range of products that catered to my needs. The Asda store has alternatives for pretty much every need in their ranges. Dairy-free, free from gluten, sugar-free low-fat and fat-free to name but a few.

Talk about landing on my feet. I was amazed that pretty much everything I would need was available under the one roof.

As for the rest of my shop, I picked up some really good bargains in the fresh meat and fish section.

I explained to an assistant that I was looking for diabetic jam, and bless her, she accompanied me to the relevant aisle and proceeded to show me the range of products in stock. Then she explained about all the other products in stock that may have been of use to me, such as biscuits, jellies and all manner of goods that I thought I would never taste again. I love this store!

On a serious note though, my only complaint would be that there were not as many manned-tills available. This may have been because the store wasn't yet packed to capacity, and having to use the self-service checkouts was not something I was looking forward to, but luckily a real till became available just in time.

In conclusion, I would say Well done Asda for having such well-trained and knowledgeable staff in place to assist customers like me and thank you for your fabulous range of goods.

I will be shopping in my local Asda store from now on.
