Testers Keepers: Dyson Airwrap review by Sarah Welsby

Posted on 15 July 2019

Wow, what can I say? This product literally blew me away! It is very powerful. It comes in a very stylish box, perfect to keep it all together and to keep tidy.

I’m a working mother of two children under five, so I don’t really have a lot of spare time to spend doing my hair as desired.

I have very thick, wavy (and fairly frizzy) hair, however the drying element of the Dyson Airwrap definitely toned it down and so did the smoothing brush attachment, which I used once my hair was dry, to tone down the frizz and it worked a treat, and very quickly.

The instructions are easy to follow, and the Dyson Airwrap itself is really easy to use. It is a lot easier than I was expecting – you simply plug it in, choose and click in the attachment, switch on and off you go! The airwrap wand is a good size and lightweight.

You can feel and hear the power straight away and there is no need to wait for it to warm up.

I tried the curling attachment; I preferred the smaller of the two as I like curls rather than waves.

Again it is really easy to use, you hold up your selected amount of sectioned hair to the wand and itself wraps as you move it towards the roots, so there are no risks of burning your fingers as you may do with standard hair curlers, as I have done many times in the past.

The first time I tried using the airwrap I used it on my hair dry and to be honest I wasn’t expecting much as I knew it is designed to be used on damp hair, however I was fairly surprised, it added a lot of volume, and left loose curls with a lovely shine, which I was pretty happy with.

The second time using the airwrap I attempted to style my hair with it still damp which resulted in a much smoother finish and lovely curls. I was truly amazed at the finish as my hair is usually a little frizzy unless I straighten it, but it was silky smooth.

I took the airwrap on holiday with me, which was the big test, as that’s when my frizzy hair really likes to make an appearance, and it worked great. As it was really humid, a few minutes after being out the shower my hair had started to dry and so I just went straight onto the drying attachments, mainly the slimmer curling attachment.

My hair kept frizz free most of the evening and felt in much better condition, I’m rather excited to see what condition my hair will be in after a month or so of using the Dyson Airwrap instead of my heat damaging dryer, straighteners and curlers!

I have been using the airwrap for a couple of weeks now and still amazed how well it leaves and styles my hair. I definitely won’t be going back to my usual hair styling tools as the airwrap does it all!

To sum up the Dyson Airwrap, it’s a great all-round hair styling tool, light weight, quick and easy with amazing results!
