Testers Keepers: Brewdog Cybernaut beer review by James Howlin

Posted on 11 March 2019

The Brewdog Cybernaut beer pours out a cloudy yellow colour but this could be that they have upped the wheat and oats contents.

It has good white foam but the head fades after a while before reducing to a very patchy surface layer; it's not like other beers where the head lasts to the bottom of the glass which is what I like in a glass of beer.

The cloudy colour could put some people off drinking the beer, I'm not too sure if this is a seasonal beer or an all round year beer, however I'm leaning towards a seasonal beer.

The aroma of herbal hops, and citrus and tropical fruit such as mango, peach, apricot, and the extra wheat flavours are very strong.

You can taste the tropical fruits and I’m leaning towards a dry, smooth tingly and fizzy combination and somewhat insubstantial body, lightly astringent it dries the palate, after taste of fruity hops, tropical fruits of mango, apricot, and peach, and earthy yeast and a whisper of malt.

It is a very good taste a solid effort that goes down like a dream. It’s the perfect drinking beer if you love hops, its well worth sampling.

I will recommend Brewdog Cybernaut to my family and friends and other Brewdog beers and I will be keeping some Brewdog beers in my fridge from now on.

I will be trying and buying other Brewdog beer as this is the first time I have tried Brewdog and liked it, with its smooth and tropical flavours. I can’t wait to try other Brewdog products.

I think the pricing can be brought back into line with other craft beers but this is a big bottle.

Suggestions to improve as I said earlier are that it was a tad watery – if they could improve and straighten the beer this would be great.
